However, I have nothing plugged in to any of my USB ports. Can someone tell me how to interpret this error message? Which device in my laptop is causing this error?

Information for driver problems.

I haven't found anything on Google that addresses this specific malady (error w/ no USB device plugged in) with any satisfaction.

Thank you!

Unable to enumerate USB device

Welcome to the CentOS fora, and congratulations on being one of the select few to do the recommended reading before posting. :-)

I'd have a look at the upstream bug reports, particularly those specific to RHEL6.
