DHCPD serving same range on multiple NICS

Post by s0ke » 2015/02/13 18:59:54

Is it possible to set up DHCP to serve the same subnet across multiple interfaces?

Why would you have multiple nics on the same subnet? That is asking for trouble.

You probably could, but I agree with gerald_clark, that's really, really stupid. Thinking about it, dhcpd might be clever and try and stop you from shooting yourself in the foot....

So would bonding my interfaces accomplish this then? Basically plugging anything into eth1-eth3 would get an IP from my DHCP range.

Thanks

It is much easier and cheaper to buy a switch than build one, but if you want to build one you use a bridge, not 4 seperate IPs in the same subnet.

Yes I agree. Thank you for the quick replies. Now I just need to get it to work via kickstart.
