Hi all,
I am relatively new to Linux, so please forgive me is I am asking something very obvious.
I have set up a server in our office running CentOS. We have 3 computers in the office 2 with Windows and 1 with Linux on.
I have setup a samba share directory on the server with a bunch of Word and Excel files. If 2 Windows machines try to access the same file, it says that the file is locked. If however a Windows and a Linux machine try to open the same file it allows both of them to open it and no lock seems to exist.
I have searched the net and can't seem to find answer, most of the tutorials seem to be about disabling file locking and after trying that in reverse, I still have no luck.
Any help would be very much appreciated and thank you very much in advance!
