Please what is the meaning of
NETWORKING=yes or NETWORKING=NO

It looks pretty obvious to me. And it would need to be NETWORKING=no not NO.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

If you set it =no then your network will not start.

I have add ip addresse to my network
do this parametre is neccessy to the network??

The /etc/init.d/network script checks if NETWORKING=no and exits without doing anything if it is. If it's set to anything other than "no" then it brings up the network.
