Networking Name Server Configuration Test

Post by sazaborit1 » 2015/09/16 04:37:46

So I have a practice test for my practical assignment. All other aspects of the tests I do fine and in the labs and other tests the networking sections are easy. However where ever I looked I couldn't find or change any of these settings. Ill write out the questions, but basically where are these located, is it in a .conf file or something?

Configure your DNS server to have a domain - exam###.com

Mailexchange of mail.exam###.com

Nameserver of ns.exam###.com

Create the hosts all pointing to:

i)
www = your ip address

ii)
mail = your ip address

iii)
ns = your ip address

iv)
ftp = your ip address

v) configure a reverse lookup for your domain

I was able to configure the network configuration, ip, hostname, domain, nameserver, gateway. Ip, name server, and gateway are all specified to use the same ip.

Anyway its probably in a really simple location or a .conf file but any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS. Afterwards Web server, Samba and FTP configuration have to be configured which I can do easily if that helps.
