So you edited /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-$whateveryourinterface and add a line to it saying e.g
DNS1=8.8.8.8
and restarted the network?
Reverting to a static ip is as simple as changing BOOTPROTO=dhcp to none.

Thanks a lotTrevor, but will try this option again and see may be when i take my laptop again for homeoffice where i use the NAT, in couple of days. Hope everything will work again, otherwise trouble you in case of issues.
