I can see quite some outgoing traffic to all sorts of ip addresses. But I am not able to identify from which application the traffic originates.
With iftop I can see outgoing connections (which are not listed for example with netstat -pant).
Is there any tool/way in Centos (installed as desktop) to analyze which application connects to which server?

That command will not list UDP connections. Are your missing connections UDP?

Re: unexplained network traffic
I guess it must have been UDP. That traffic disappeared for now, but I post an update when possible.
For posterity:
In the meantime I found a useful tool thats shows network traffic grouped by PID:
nethogs (.sf.net)
It is not in the standard repository though.
It is a nice tool, but are there any similar tools with more features?
