Connecting Ms Sql server 2000 from Squirrel Sql from Centos 6

Dear Sir..

I am not able to Connect MS Sql server 2000 from Squirrel Sql from CENTOS 6 i am getting
tcp/IP connection to host to xx.xx.xx.xx , port 1433 has failed

Plz help me solve this issue...

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.

Not much to go on.

[url=http://www.squirrelsql.org/]Squirrel SQL[/url] is not part of CentOS. What version are you using, and how did you install it? Can you access the server by any other means? Seems like it may be a firewall or permission issue on the Windows side.

Thanks for the Reply Phil....

The issue is i am able to connect to sql server 2005 but not able to connect on sql server 2000 which on the other PC and i have disable the firewall as well..

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Can you access the Windows 2000 SQL server via the Microsoft client from Windows?
