vncserver shows weird screen instead of gnome in CentOS 5

I have installed vncserver in centos 5. when I get connect to it I see a screen like this which is not obviously Gnome. what should I do to have gnome desktop not this

You must have gnome installed and working locally for that user before it can be displayed remotely..
You currently have no window manager running for that user.

Edit your .vnc/xstartup file.
