1. can i install chrome, and if so how. firefox print is hard to read

2. it seems that to boot on the next day without freeze. i need to pull power plug, discharge power by pressing start button, then put power cord in and restart.

2. if it freezes what is key combo to reboot. cntl-alt-backspace doesnt work
i have 160 gb hard drive-6gb ram-nvidia mx420 graphic card

No, chrome doesn't even run on CentOS 6 let alone 5. Perhaps you'd be better off just upgrading to CentOS 7 since 5 is nearing its end of life (about a year to go) and if you are using it as a desktop then the newer versions are more suitable.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
