mdadm failed boot disk

The computer I have has had the /boot installed on the software raid 1 partition. 1 drive failed. I replaced the drive and recreated the disk. I get the boot menu and the splash screen then this:

starting nash 5.1........
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while..
No Volume Groups Found

mount can not find filesystem /dev/root
setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory

switchroot: mount failed: no such file or directory

CentOS 5 is now End of Life and no more updates to it will be released. You should migrate to a supported release ASAP.

Did you try repairing the RAID from a rescue boot?
