I've got a problem with my 'backup' server . After short power break it cannot boot. I'm not sure what was going on there before reboot. Rescue mode tells that there is no Linux partitions. I'm not linux guru

What's the output from pvs. Did you look to see if you have lost a disk? It's the most likely explanation for this.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
