centos5 + remote snmp
centos5 + remote snmp
i installed a centos 4.4 box and it sat for a week or two, then centos5 came out so i just wiped and fresh installed. i had remote snmp working on the 4.4 box. i just copied a section from my freebsd snmpd.config into the centos 4.4 config and added one line to allow a remote box in, viola. however, this isnt working on centos5. i deleted all iptables rules and set the default policy to allow, still nothing on an snmpwalk from the remote box. i tried snmpwalk on the centos5 box and it gives me command not found. any other ways i can try and troubleshoot this as im kinda stuck here until i get that working.
centos5 + remote snmp
take a look at the 'yum provides' command on howto locate something in the distro..
hint: you want the net-snmp-utils package to be installed on your machine to get snmpwalk going
