Yum: Permission denied

Post by Yourdogsdead » 2012/10/08 00:30:25

Hello,

In my infinite wisdom, I deleted Python from my system. I managed to get python2.4 installed, and added to my system path. Yum is still not starting up and is giving me the following error:
/usr/bin/yum: /usr/bin/python: bad interpreter: Permission denied
Any help is appreciated.

I am able to use python from the command line by typing python. I am not sure why I cannot get yum to use it.

I have exactly the same YUM/Python problem. Did you ever get a solution?

Really?
