hp d1460 requires hplip 2.7.7
Re: (solved) Re: hp d1460 requires hplip 2.7.7
Hello.
I thought rpm -i *.rpm would be a good idea, but:
[root@localhost HPLIP]# rpm -i *.rpm
package cupsddk-drivers-1.2.3-5.el5.centos is already installed
file /usr/bin/hpijs from install of hpijs-2.8.6-1.el5.centos conflicts with file from package hpijs-1.6.7-4.1.el5.3
file /usr/lib/libhpip.so.0.0.1 from install of hpijs-2.8.6-1.el5.centos conflicts with file from package hpijs-1.6.7-4.1.el5.3
file /usr/lib/sane/libsane-hpaio.so from install of libsane-hpaio-2.8.6-1.el5.centos conflicts with file from package libsane-hpaio-1.6.7-4.1.el5.3
file /usr/lib/sane/libsane-hpaio.so.1 from install of libsane-hpaio-2.8.6-1.el5.centos conflicts with file from package libsane-hpaio-1.6.7-4.1.el5.3
[root@localhost HPLIP]#
How do I manage "conflicts" like in hpijs.
See you.

Re: (solved) Re: hp d1460 requires hplip 2.7.7
You need to use the -U option, not the -i option:
rpm -Uvh *.rpm
rpm -Uvh *.rpm
Re: (solved) Re: hp d1460 "does not" require hplip upgrade
Hello,
Well after trying many ways, I would rather go for:
1. Go to:
http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-DeskJet_D1400
2. "download PPD file" in the row of "Recommended Driver: hpijs"
3. Go to:
System/Administration/Printing. Select "New Printer", usb connection will be detected and finally provide ppd file downloaded on 2.)
Now she is printing "perfectly".
Did not install new version of hplip
[feddds@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa hplip
hplip-1.6.7-4.1.el5.3
[feddds@localhost ~]$
See you around.
