The 64bit installation also fails!

Additionally, another odd twist to this issue is that this error is not present while doing a CD based installation. We are experiencing this error only when booting from the stock kernel/initrd via PXE for use with a standard kickstart. The kernel/intird files we are using are located at http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/os/i386/images/pxeboot/ . Perhaps these files are out of sync with the kernel/initrd image found on the cd-iso media?

Hi Guys

I also tried both 32 and 64 bit, both came up with the same problem.

I'm going to be attempting this again on a different batch of systems, the original ones were mixbranded and had to be shipped back, hardware wise, they are supposed to be identical.
I'll let everyone know how things turned out.

IIRC, the last 2950 III with 6/i was done from a clean install from x86_64 CentOS 5.2 DVD. That 6/i is matched with 6x146 in RAID 10 setup. The only other thing interesting is that I have 32GB RAM. Heck I don't even recall needing to change any BIOS or PERC option other than the initial RAID setup.

FYI - CentOS 5.3 does *not* appear to resolve this issue! :-(

The original post seems to indicate that you are trying to use the Dell provided driver... Have you just tried to install without it?
