How to set up internet in centOS 5.3

Hi all,

I am a very new to centOS system. What i am facing now is, i cannot get the internet after i have installed the centOS into my PC.

I have made some research but still cannot get the useful information about that.

Can somebody please give me a step by step set up for that.

We might be able to do things blindfolded, but if you cannot tell what you have, then we cannot describe the steps either.

And the first step after connecting is to run `yum update` since CentOS 5.3 is seriously out of date and contains known security vulnerabilities. You may find it easier to try reinstalling with CentOS 5.8 as that contains support for newer hardware so may well work out of the box.
