Hi,
I had a wireless card with drivers installed functioning properly. After some activity on the server I noticed that wlan0 was no longer listed in ifconfig -a.
I see the wireless card under "lspci" and have the drivers installed. I tried to physically removing the card, uninstall drivers and reinstall from scratch but I am not able to get the wifi adapter back. I can't even set up the ifcfg-wlan0 file as I don't know how to get the mac address of the wifi interface (not the same as serial).
Thanks for your help.. Below are the system details:

Re: Wireless Adapter Disappeared
That is not a CentOS kernel.
You are running an OpenVZ kernel. Containers cannot load modules.
If you want further help with your OpenVZ network drivers, try openvz.org.

Thank you so much for pointing this out Gerald. I completely missed it.
Yes, one of the activities was installing openVZ. As soon as I uninstalled openVZ my wlan network mysteriously reappeared.
