Problem with NIS

Post by TechTodd » 2007/08/06 21:23:20

Good Day Everyone,

I seem to have correctly installed my NIS server. If i do a yptest, all tests return ok except for one and i have never seen it answer ok on any machine i try it on.

I have my Centos5 box as the ypserver I have a FC5 box as my client and run the test on there and all is well just like on the server.

yptest is ok, ypwhich is ok, ypcat is ok, and ypdomainname is ok

I can not login from the client machine. I am just about at the end of my rope!

If anyone wants config files or anything, please let me know and i will get them to you.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

If you create a local account, can you log in to that account? In other words, is the problem solely due to NIS?
