ok, i have a rather curious issue, i just installed CentOS5 onto my Hewlett Packard a1209n. all of the individual packets and everything installed properly, and booted fine, but after it boots it asks for a login. now, i dont know what this login is because it didnt ask to create a login during startup. My guess is that it created a generic login, but it didnt tell me what it was. my comp is used almost constantly so i would appreciate it if someone could help ASAP. for now, it will be sitting with the login prompt. THX people!!! :-)

During installation, you had to supply a password for the 'root' login.
You also created a user account and password.
