tomcat 6 mysql openvz

Post by krzysztof86 » 2012/03/11 15:02:36

Hello.
I have problem with setting up tomcat6 in centos 5 system. My vps have 256 mb memory guaranted, and 512mb burst.
Tomcat running in multiple processes, and much memory consuming. here print screen:

here my setenv.sh settings:

#small-ish
JAVA_OPTS="-Xms4m -Xmx6m -Djava.awt.headless=true"
#debug
#JAVA_OPTS="-Xms16m -XX:MaxPermSize=456m -Xmx764m -Dmail.host=localhost -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8000,server=y,suspend=n "
#bigish vm
#JAVA_OPTS="-Xms16m -XX:MaxPermSize=456m -Xmx764m -Djava.awt.headless=true "

How to make that only one proces running, and decrease memory usage. because i want to have mysql with innodb running too on this vps. and this time when i run both there no memory. Sorry for my bad english.
Best regards
Krzysztof

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.

I believe that the number of threads is set by maxThreads, but note that reducing it will cause additional connection requests to be refused. You are running with very limited memory by today's standards.
