High CPU and memory consumption from command

Postby Dannymh » 2014/03/16 20:13:10

Code: Select all

/usr/libexec/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.1.2/cc1plus -quiet -I. -MD IOException.d -MF .deps/IOException.Tpo -MP -MT IOException.o -MQ IOException.o -D_GNU_SOURCE -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DOPT_CONFIGFILE"/opt/suphp/etc/suphp.conf" IOException.cpp -quiet -dumpbase IOException.cpp -mtunegeneric -auxbase-strip IOException.o --param ggc-min-expand1 --param ggc-min-heapsize4096 -o /root/tmp/cc0Uz1bh.s

I am running centos5 on my VPS and have been trying to trace the high cpu usage I have been hit with for the past few days. In looking at my daily process log, I see the above process but can't figure out what I ran, or why this process would have run. It wasn;t a manual action

cc1plus is part of the C and C++ compiler. From the configuration file there (DOPT_CONFIGFILE), it looks like someone has been trying to compile suPHP or something which depends on suPHP.

And they are trying to compile it as the root userid. If this was not you or one of your colleagues then you should investigate who and why as a matter of urgency.
