Did you download all the files in that directory? That's more than you need to install CentOS. Anyway, first check to see if the files are in good shape by running:

md5sum -c md5sum.txt

in the directory where you have the downloaded files. Using the DVD is probably the easiest way to install, so burn CentOS-5.1-i386-bin-DVD.iso to DVD media. Read this page:

http://www.centos.org/docs/4/html/CD_burning_howto.html#AEN67

Put the DVD into the drive and reboot the system. Follow the instructions to complete the installation. This documentation may help:

http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/5.1/Installation_Guide/

Since this is the 64-bit forum I presume you're aware that i386 is the 32-bit version?

Oh, and the md5sum verifies that the checksum of the file matches the one listed in the md5sum.txt, to ensure that the file you've downloaded is correct. Not much point trying to install from a corrupted DVD ISO!

USB pendrives are amazingly cheap these days. One can perhaps install
the DVD image onto USB and boot from that. USB can be reused unlike
the burnt disk that only gathers dust after the one use.

That depends upon whether one uses a DVD-R or a DVD-RW. :-D
