Hi, my following command failed with mirror error while being executed in CentOS 5.8:
yum install oracle-validated
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, security
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: mirror.unl.edu
* extras: mirror.team-cymru.org
* updates: mirror.team-cymru.org
http://mirror.unl.edu/centos/5.8/os/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError:
Trying other mirror.
http://mirror.nexcess.net/CentOS/5.8/os/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError:
Trying other mirror.
...
Error: failure: repodata/filelists.xml.gz from base: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
package-cleanup --dupes
rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
The program package-cleanup is found in the yum-utils package.
Something wrong on the CentOS side? What's the solution to get around this?
Thanks.
Ed

Re: oracle-validated package failed with mirror error
Solved. It appears to be the tunelling issue with PUTTY.
