Centos Forum

Post by random » 2007/06/22 08:20:27

Hi, are there any other Centos forums?

This one is a pig to use, slow, doesn't act properly when holding shift to eg open a thread in a new window, and so on. I suspect it is why there isn't that much activity despite the size of the Centos community.

Alternatively, can this one be either fixed or replaced?

Cheers!

Yes, use the linuxquestions.org RHEL forums; http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/

Do not know why you are having this problem, the 'shift+click on a thread' works just fine for me using firefox-2.0.0.4-2.fc8.x86_64 and seamonkey-1.1.2-1.fc7.i386, what are you using?? This also works just fine with the default firefox and seamonkey rpms from the C5 repositories.

It's been a discussion about this and the whole centos website will have to be redesigned ... but the release of CentOS 4 and just after of 4.5 (and now 3.9 that is in QA tests) postpone the centos 2.0 website ...
BTW, all the centos developers use mailing lists (http://lists.centos.org) and irc (#centos on irc.freenode.net) .... feel free to join ...

Thanks for the replies guys.

I generally like forums as I find them easier to search and you sometimes stumble across other gems in the process.

I also hate to be the newb on a mail list and ask a question that is often asked, but searching them is less fruitful for me at least. The alternative is to collect and keep all posts to the mail list for my own searching, but I have way too many Mb tied up like that already. :)

Cheers,

You can google the CentOS mailing list by adding:

site:lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/

to your search terms.
