using a text editor

Post by STS1SS » 2008/07/17 13:31:00

OK. first: total newbie here, to the max...

I have an old IBM netfinity server I want to use for some very light software/web development. It is old, several years ago I did have LINUX on it briefly, so I know the GUIs will work on it. That's the problem I am dealing with now.

I believe I have found the answer; a way to default to basic VGA. But I know zero about the emacs text editor included with this install. I am happy to read/learn on my own, but haven't found anything yet in a search here.

Any pointers would be great, thanks. Just need info on where to get the info on using emacs text editor.

Thanks,

Joe

OK, so you and me both get to make me feel like a moron wasting our time, lol.

I apologize for the silly post, google got it for me.
