video4linux support, howto compile just one module?

Post by macron0 » 2005/04/17 08:22:55

Hi,

I am new to centos4 and also new to video4linux(2)

I noticed that there is support for video4linux in centos4.

But modprobe saa7134 does nothing.

When I run make menuconfig video4linux is also allready selected as a module.

I really rather not recompile the kernel if it is not neccesarry.

The fact that video 4 linux is allready set as a module makes me believe that I just have to compile one of the driver modules and I should be up and running.

Only I have no idea how to do this.

In /usr/src/linux-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL/drivers/media/video/saa7134
is a Makefile.

But if I go there and type make I get the message "make: *** No targets. Stop."

(the saa7134 module is the one I need)

Does anyone have any tips on how to solve this whitout compiling the kernel?

Thank you verymuch.

Regards,

Hans
