High Point Rocketraid 1820 Centos 4 boot time driver

Post by sam_grabham » 2005/04/29 22:03:09

Hi

Ref: High Point Rocketraid 1820 Centos 4 boot time driver

I have not been able to find or compile a driver for the above card, Tried the source code from highpoint and the makefile fails. Also used the RH 4 drivers listed on their website, which also failed to install.

If Centos would create a boot time driver for the above card that anyone could use at boot time using "linux dd" and could easily created via rawrite and have a driver download page for everyone. I would donate a good sum to Centos for thier efforts as they are promoting a very good OS platform and will have saved us from RH prices. I did wonder why the RH drivers don't work.

Any work arounds?

I have heard that you could install yum on RH 9 and change the conf file to upgrade from Centos, so if this was possible. Would the correct driver be found for raid card?

Regards

Sam
