Hi,
I am trying ti install the x86_64 version of CentOS 4.1 and keep running into a problem with GRUB on the reboot of the installation. I have setup the following configuration:
The computer has the CERC SATA 2S BIOS running identical Seagate drives.
I have configured a software raid swap partion (RAID 0), software raid boot partion (RAID 1), and large software raid partion with LVM on the top defining various mount points for the os. Everytime I reboot the machine i get the following error in what i believe is stage 2 of grub
BIOS Installed Successfully!
GRUB Loading stage1.5.
GRUB loading , please wait ....
Error 2
I have booted into linux rescue and tried to manually configure grub based on some post i have seen in the bug list of centos. The follow command where run in grub
grub> device (hd0) /dev/sda
grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> setup (hd0)
grub> device (hd1) /dev/sdb
grub> root (hd1,0)
grub> setup (hd1)
I was attempting to make sure the grub was installed into the MBR of the physicall disk. I am looking for any guidence the forum could provide..
Thanks,
Eric
