Realtek RTL8168/8111 Drivers?

Post by LucasG » 2008/03/22 02:04:26

I am almost a completely newbie on Linux drivers. Where could I get the drivers for my Realtek RTL8168/8111 and how would I install them on my CentOS 4.6 installation as I can't get the network to work on it.

Regards

Check out the network card section of the CentOS wiki:

http://wiki.centos.org/HardwareList

Look at the output of:

/sbin/lspci | grep Ethernet

and locate the driver for your card.

I apologize but I don't see how to install this or if it's even there.

If you are sure it's an RTL8168 or RTL8111 chipset, please follow the instructions available at http://wiki.centos.org/HardwareList/RealTekRTL8111b
In order to compile the driver (either manually from source or automatically using the dkms package) you will need to install the packages listed at http://wiki.centos.org/HardwareList/RealTekRTL8101#packages_list
