Root File System Full 100% , Centos 4.7 , Domino 7.0.2 Need

Post by admtech » 2009/03/30 15:41:26

Hi ALL,

We have below environment.

Operating System: Centos 4.7 (Final) running on ESX VmWare
Application: Domino 7.0.2
Root File System Size: 10GB
uname -a : Linux d06ad17d 2.6.9-78.0.13.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jan 14 16:12:46 EST 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Problem: The root (/) file system gets full to 100% and the du -sk on root files system shows only 6 GB. When we reboot the server it gets resolved and the root file system / comes down to 40%. But again within 2 days it again reaches to 100% and we have only option to sort this out to reboot the server.
Looked in to /var/log and did not find anything which is responsible for it and also could not find any large log files at /var/log/

Any help much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

Find what is filling it, and fix it, or use a bigger root file system.
Sounds like unnamed temp files to me.

Thanks for your reply but not able to find out whats filling it up and after reboot it all ok. I am sure that 10 GB root / is enough as we are running many servers with / of 10GB.
