CentOS as Proxy Server for Instant Messaging

Post by goldfinger » 2007/01/31 19:37:33

I have a CentOS server at home and would like to set it up as a SOCKS Proxy for Live Messenger. I would like to use My.Server.IP:443 and have CentOS take all that traffic and forward it to messenger.hotmail.com:1863. I have some knowledge of Linux but as soon as people start talking about IPTABLES, FORWARD, PREROUTING I start to get confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
