Security Updates listing

Post by Steve_K » 2007/10/03 09:55:59

Hi,

Is there a list of security updates for CentOS available that lists versions of packages and what was changed or security issues resolved by those updates?

On the Security Response Team page it indicates that "Any formal security announcements made by the CentOS team will be posted to the News and Announcements in the forums and posted to the CentOS Discussion and Information mailing list."

I've subscribed to the mailing list, but I wanted to get some info on past updates, and check some specific issues have been patched etc, but there doesn't seem to be anything posted in the News and Announcements forum for CentOS 4 (or 5 for that matter).

Am I looking in the wrong place and details of the patches are available elsewhere? Or should I be looking at the Red Hat original erratas on the RHN site?

Cheers,
Steve

Because CentOS gets all updates from upstream, you can find the info regarding patches from their errata site:

http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/

For CentOS update notices, see the Announcement archives:

Hi toracat

Thanks for the info - I thought it would probably be the same as the Red Hat errata list, but I just wanted to check.

I did have a look at the archive, and have subscribed to the centos-announce list but I wanted to see what issues had been fixed in the update. I see in the archives now that it links back to the RHN.

Cheers,
Steve
