PHP5 srpms and mysql + mysqli

Post by ddrysdale » 2005/06/20 03:22:00

Have any of you had luck compiling php5 from SRPMs with MYSQL and MYSQLI enabled. I can compile it with one or the other no problem but when I enable both I get a cant compile from shared libraries error. (I will post the exact error when I am at work tomorrow) I have googled the problem and searcher the php web site and found lots of solutions that didn’t work for me. I am using Centos 4.0 and want to know if anyone ells was in the same boat as me and solved the problem.

I found the problem. In your SPEC file you have to set both mysqli and mysql like this.

--with-mysql=/usr/lib/mysql/mysql_config \
--with-mysqli=/usr/lib/mysql/mysql_config \

Don't forget to modify the existing entree or remove the --without-mysql ones.
