I have been working on one that will tell you how to set up centos4.0+ as a web/email/database server using postfix/php5/apache2/mysql. It will not have x or kde or anything like that. It will all be administrated by webmin with virtualmin and usermin. www.webmin.com. I was thinking if a few people were interested we could refine it and make it a bit of a standard for centos hosting servers. What do you think and is that what you were looking for.

I hope to have a working copy by Monday. I am about 60% finished. Although I intend to explain everything for the most part step by step, it is a medium complexity setup, intended for business application. I will be what my company will be using for its small server farm when I upgrade. You will need a development server for compiling rpms be it a separate server or just vmware. But I am going to include step by step instructions on compiling rpm’s. It is really quit simple. I may even set up a yum repository so people don't have to compile apache or php if they don't want to.

Their will be a small delay on my walk through. I am converting it from centos 3.0+ to centos 4.0+ and still have a bit to finish.

I should have it out by this Monday. I was on vacation and haven’t completed it and converted it to 4.0+ centos. I will not be releasing it prematurely because if it has mistakes I will be bombarded with questions that I don’t have time to answer.

I took my usual option of installing the apachefriends.org build, works great with CentOS. It comes with instantly switchable PHP4 + PHP5, Apache 2 and MySQL plus utilities.
