64 Bit Sytem, 31 Bit application

Post by damogran » 2007/07/12 07:49:16

hi,

i'm running centos 4.5 64 Bit in z/vm an got some problems running 31/32 bit applications.
i heard that there need to be some libraries that supports 32 bit compatibility on centos, but i can't find usefull information about it.

what packages are they?

i got some problems with a lotus domino installation, resulting in the fact that the server wont come up.

here is the message
/opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server
/opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server: line 691: /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/zlinux/tunekrnl: No such file or directory
/opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server: line 1140: /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/zlinux/server: No such file or directory
and here some debug
strace /opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server
execve("/opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server", ["/opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server"], [/* 18 vars */]) = -1 ENOEXEC (Exec format error)
dup(2) = 3
fcntl(3, F_GETFL) = 0x8002 (flags O_RDWR|O_LARGEFILE)
fstat(3, {st_mode=S_IFCHR|0620, st_rdev=makedev(136, 0), ...}) = 0
mmap(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0) = 0x2000001b000
lseek(3, 0, SEEK_CUR) = -1 ESPIPE (Illegal seek)
write(3, "strace: exec: Exec format error\n", 32strace: exec: Exec format error
) = 32
close(3) = 0
munmap(0x2000001b000, 4096) = 0
exit_group(1) = ?
thats why i wanna check my 32 bit compatibility, cause it could be missing. for me "Exec format error" sounds like that.

maybe this is helpfull to
file /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/zlinux/tunekrnl
/opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/zlinux/tunekrnl: setuid ELF 32-bit MSB executable, IBM S/390, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.2.10, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped
thx a lot

damo
