Switching back from CentOSplus Kernel

Postby cfnick » 2008/10/02 14:21:14

Hi Guys,

I recently installed the centosplus kernel and would like to remove it and go back to the stock centos kernel.

Whats the best way of doing this?

Thanks in advance

Use rpm to remove it.

rpm -q kernel
should show you the ones installed.

Thanks for that, the machine only has centosplus kernels on it (stock ones were removed when it was added)

is it safe to remove the running kernel and install the stock one? or will i need to actually be in front of the machine? (Its a live running webserver)

actually scrap that, there was a newer kernel that wasnt booted which I removed with rpm, then ran yum, which installed the current stock kernel.

Thanks for your help
