Oracle AS Missing Packages

Post by ctdufy » 2006/04/25 00:05:27

I am attempting to install Oracle Application Server on CENTOS, Version 4.3. The pre-installer says the following four RPM packages are missing:

openmotif21-2.1.30-8
compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.128
compat-glibc-7.x-2.2.4.32.6
compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.128

I have applied the latest updates so my system is as current as possible.

Is there any place I can get these packages or is the Oracle installer sending out of date messages?

I checked the CENTOS RPM library: http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/4.3/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/ and found package: openmotif21 but I couldn't find the compat packages referenced here.

Any advice on how I should proceed next? Oracle Support says I need those packages.

You can a few of find them here:
http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/3.7/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/

But this is CentOS 3.7 and not CentOS 4.3, probably you downloaded incorrect installer or some installer bug. If correct installer, try to install the packages via yum and see if it helps.
