What CentOS installation type for Oracle 10g?

Post by Juan_algaba » 2007/01/06 20:56:07

I am new to CentOS. I am installing it on my laptop for the first time. After I have installed CentOS, I intend to install Oracle 10g. I see a screen on my laptop asking me what Installation Type I choose : Personal Desktop, Workstation, Server or Custom.

1) I am following the "Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Installation Guide that I downloaded from CentOS website, and I cannot see that screen in that document. What installation document should I be using?

2) Can anyone tell me what option is better in order to run Oracle 10g?

Thanks a lot

Juan

If I'm not wrong, personal edition is not part of oracle for linux. It exists just in windows.
Are you sure you downloaded linux version?

Ok, now I see. You're talking about the centos, not the oracle version you should choose.
The better for running oracle is of course the server installation type. However, anyone will do the trick.
