Oracle 10G Grid OS package requirement warning

Postby visionquest » 2007/12/29 16:30:33

I have Cent 4.5 installed......

I'm trying to install Oracle 10.2.0.1 Grid Control and I'm getting a warning that the following packages are not found:

Checking for compat-libstdc++-296-2.96-132.7.2; found Not found. Failed <<<<
Checking for libstdc++devel-3.4.3-22.1; found Not found. Failed <<<<
Checking for openmotif-21-2.1.30-11; found openmotif-2.2.3-10.1.el4. Failed

But they exist according to the yum list commands:

[root@linux3 Gridrpms]# yum list openmotif21
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Installed Packages
openmotif21.i386 2.1.30-11.RHEL4.6 installed
[root@linux3 Gridrpms]# yum list libstdc++
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Installed Packages
libstdc++.i386 3.4.6-8 installed
Available Packages
libstdc++.i386 3.4.6-9 base
[root@linux3 Gridrpms]# yum list openmotif21
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Installed Packages
openmotif21.i386 2.1.30-11.RHEL4.6 installed

How should I proceed?

Their was an error during the installation, OPMN failed to start, then the installed failed after the Web Cache Assistance tried to complete.

So I rebooted the box then started the database, listener,OPMN and all it's components:

[oracle@linux3 bin]$ opmnctl status

Processes in Instance: EnterpriseManager0.linux3.bocapdev.info
-------------------+--------------------+---------+---------
ias-component | process-type | pid | status
-------------------+--------------------+---------+---------
DSA | DSA | 6963 | Alive
HTTP_Server | HTTP_Server | 6888 | Alive
LogLoader | logloaderd | 6984 | Alive
dcm-daemon | dcm-daemon | 6828 | Alive
OC4J | home | 7019 | Alive
WebCache | WebCache | 7057 | Alive
WebCache | WebCacheAdmin | 7050 | Alive

However the Oracle Manager Server is not functioning and their are no logs in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman directories. see below

[oracle@linux3 ~]$ $OMS_HOME/bin/emctl start oms
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
opmnctl: opmn started
Starting HTTP Server ...
Starting Oracle Management Server ...
Checking Oracle Management Server Status ...
Oracle Management Server is not functioning because of the following reason:
Unexpected error occurred. Check error and log files.

Please advise

Have you been able to resolve your issue? I am trying to install Oracle 10gR2 Grid Control on CentOS 5 and seem to have the same issue. The installer stops and states there was a problem starting the OPMN Process Manager ..... see log files. The log files do not show any meaningful error messages.

Thanks
