Can't edit posts

Post by NotionCommotion » 2013/07/01 16:12:13

I should be able to edit my posts. Probably a stupid question, but can't seem to find the edit button

You can start a new topic.
You can view topic.
You can reply to posts.
You can edit your posts.
You cannot delete your posts.
You can add new polls.
You can vote in polls.
You can attach files to posts.
You can post without approval.

Can't edit posts

Post by scottro » 2013/07/01 16:34:54

This is fairly dated software, and after awhile, the edit function goes away on a post--I've forgotten the exact time period. That is, you can edit a post shortly after posting, but if you come back a day later, you will probably be unable to edit the post.

Hopefully, if the software upgrade for the forum ever takes place, this, along with many other things, will be fixed. :)

The edit-time window for a post is one hour. It was set that way because the edit function was being abused by spammers.

If the one hour period has passed and there is something that definitely needs to be modified (the inadvertent display of an IP address, for example), users are advised to contact a moderator and ask for a correction to be made.
