[SOLVED]Installation problem CentOS 7
Hello everyone. I'm very sorry for my english.
I have a proglem with installation of CentOS 7.
Motherboard GygaBite H97-HD3.
16 GB RAM
Processor i7 4770 3.40 Ghz
Video Card Nvidia GTX 750ti
So, i'm trying to install CentOS from cd image burned to cd. I turn on my comp, go to the boot menu and choose CD-DVD. After that i SEE the menu of installation which has three submenus as install centos7, try centos 7 and troubleshooting. i choose install centos 7, i starts loading. BUT on top left side of monitor it showes pinguins and then nothing. and stop there untill i turn off or reboot comp.
Then, when i turn off my VIDEOCART(nvidia gtx) from power and connect my monitor to the motherboard and do the same thing it showes installation process and installation continious. I can't use centos switched on videocart. Please how can i fix it

Re: Installation problem CentOS 7
Once the menu comes up, after you boot from the CD/DVDROM, choose troubleshooting, then Install CentOS 7 in basic graphics mode.
Please let us know if that works for you.

Re: Installation problem CentOS 7
Please follow this HOWTO first:
https://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResou ... idiaDriver
So you will need to access the repository ELRepo. To do this run the following commands:
Now run the following command to install kmod-nvidia:
I realise there are several kmod-nvidia packages on ELRepo so you may have to choose one based on your graphics card. I'm not sure which is best to choose but I would suggest try the highest version number first and work back from that, e.g. http://elrepo.org/linux/elrepo/el7/x86_ ... x86_64.rpm

Re: Installation problem CentOS 7
ELrepo has an nvidia-detect package too which will tell you which kmod-nvidia package you want. Install it, run it, install the kmod it suggests.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: [SOLVED]Installation problem CentOS 7
You could try adding the following kernel command line options to see if they solve your issue. You need to select "Install CentOS 7" and press the tab key, then add:
Code: Select all
acpi=off pci=noacpi

Tried it just now. I end up getting a new error where it freezes and cannot proceededdiegi686 wrote:You could try adding the following kernel command line options to see if they solve your issue. You need to select "Install CentOS 7" and press the tab key, then add:

The message is:

What screen do you get to without passing any of those options in?
What's the last error message you see?
