Howto change Logon-Screen resolution?

Hi,
1. Change the screen resolution under GNOME via the GUI, NO PROBLEM,
2. Change the screen resolution while booting (console) in GRUB2, NO PROBLEM -

BUT, how can I change the screen resolution at logon screen, for example to 1024x768?
