no music recorder, which is best?

Post by avraamjack » 2014/10/10 13:11:12

Hi All,

Sound recorder seems to be not standard on Centos 7 distribution.

( Or did I miss a package? ).

Any opinions on the best one and repository to get it from?

Now that I get all my music from internet streaming, I find that traveling leaves me bereft of music, as I leave the LTE areas. I figure I might as well record a few bits to get me over the audio deserts.

Like audacity-freeworld from nux-dextop perhaps?

I would second Audacity from Nux desktop repository.

I have used Audacity for years across three operating systems, it usually works fine. With some soundcards I have had problems with recording the output of an internal source.

PS: Around 90 hours of creative commons licenced classical music may be downloaded from

http://www.gardnermuseum.org/music/list ... r=composer

The podcast may be streamed, not sure about that.

I've got audacity including mp3 support at http://awel.domblogger.net/7/media/ but I only build for x86_64
