centos 7 local host login

Post by billmiller » 2014/11/30 20:24:18

I don't know very much about this stuff but I installed 7.0 and on reboot it wants " Local Host Login " I have no idea what to put in. I tried my user name and password but that does nothing. In the past I installed Centos 6.2 which has upped to 6.5. I did not encounter these problems with version 6. I would appriaciate any help with this.

The install creates a user called root and asks you to set its password. It also allows you to create your own username and set its password too. If you have forgotten both then perhaps http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/ResetRootPassword might help?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

I tried putting in the user name and password that I created on installation BUT it does accept or recognise that.

Make sure you don't have your caps lock on.
