Hi guys I am new to centos, and after several days exploring, I got it installed with all the necessary components I need. However, I got 3 boot up options with exactly the same system. Attached is the picture of the screen. Anyone knows what are these three used for? And if it is useless, how can I eliminate them?
Thank you.
why 3 boot up options
Re: why 3 boot up options
They are not the same but your screenshot has chopped off the right hand side where the differences are. They are 2 different kernel versions and also the bottom one is the rescue kernel if all else fails. Each time there is a kernel update there will be another option added until the maximum number of concurrent kernels is reached and then the oldest will automatically be removed.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Thank your for the question wxw, and thank you for the answer Trevor - I was wondering about this myself
Just to clarify: all packages that are loaded and the server configuration will be exactly the same in all (non-rescue) boot options, but we have a choice of kernel, is that right?
