MATE Issues

I've got a problem with Mate. For some reason I cannot right click, and I cannot drag anything onto the desktop.

I found this thread

But I cannot even use the command caja... II have caja-schemas rpm installed.

There's a package in EPEL called caja
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
