KVM: Windows 7 guest unable to download patches & updates

Hi,

I installed CentOS 7 and I configured KVM & vmware, the guest I configured is Windows 7, the windows Installation completed successfully, however when I start the Windows 7, the guest doesn't able to run Windows Update, I mean, after several hours there a guest do not get any patch, also if I try to open a pptp connection I got a error about the security options, but in a lap top that's running fine and I did compared all the options twice to ensure the same configuration, but I get the same error.

I did run this configuration on Centos 6.5 and it worked fine, but on Centos 7 it doesn't.

Any Idea why I can't open pptp & update the Windows 7 guest running on Centos 7 with KVM?

I know this is a Linux world but this is something related to KVM and Centos.

What sort of network connection did you give your guest?

on the host I'm using WiFi network and I configure a NAT network configuration default on the guest.

On the guest I have access to internet, skype, outlook email, an other applications, however if I tried to update windows (patches) or install windows packages (i.e.: Microsoft .Net framework 4.0) it just stuck and I couldn't download or install nothing, also I configured a pptp and I got authentication errors when I'm try to open the pptp network, but on a physical laptop I got the same configuration and it works.

I was having a similar issue, my issue was there was a prior patch that was stuck.

Search for this:
Windows6.1-KB947821

The readiness software you will find has a repair in it for your issue, there is an x86 and 64 version, works with windows 7 and server 2008 r2.

If you are looking for fixes to win 8 or 2012, search for "Windows6.0-KB947821" seems backwards and will say it for vista but it is win 8 and server 2012.
