Hi,
I am wondering if there is an equivalent of RedHat Satellite v6 on CentOS7, or is it do it yourself?
The previous Satellite version was based upon spacewalk, but the new version uses different components, is there any repository or tutorial to set-up the version 6 of satellite on CentOS7. in other words a free satellite v6 on CentOS7
Regards.
Is there an equivalent of RedHat Satellite 6 for CentOS

Re: Is there an equivalent of RedHat Satellite 6 for CentOS
What is Satellite 6?
Red Hat Satellite 6 is a re-engineering of the Red Hat Satellite product. Spacewalk (and its downstream product, Red Hat Satellite 5) is a systems-management tool, and Satellite 6 is designed to accomplish the same set of goals. However, Satellite 6 has been built from the ground-up on different and more modern technologies. Spacewalk is not the upstream for Satellite 6, and never will be. Instead Satellite 6 is a federation of several upstream open source projects, including Katello, Foreman, Pulp, and Candlepin.
In short - there is nothing like the relation between spacewalk and Sat5.But you may check the open source projects from the quotation.Otherwise , you can evaluate it, if you are using a corporate mail.

Per Red Hat KB (https://access.redhat.com/articles/880853)
Q: What open source projects serve as the upstream for Red Hat Satellite 6?
A: Key projects include: Foreman, Puppet, Katello, Pulp, and Candlepin.
There's also a good write-up in GitHub titled "Install Satellite 6 on Centos 7" (https://github.com/lukepafford/iac_conf ... n-Centos-7)
