You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

yum update errors
trying to run updates and I get this. Not sure how to troubleshoot.
Re: yum update errors
You did mix standard repo with atrpms repo. Some pakages from atrpms repo update ( overwrite ) standard packages. Now update looking for particular dependencies from standard repo which were update ( overwrite ) from atrpms repo.
Re: yum update errors
What's the output from rpm -q centos-release ?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

cantos-release-7-3.1611.e17.centos.x86_64What's the output from rpm -q centos-release ?
Re: yum update errors
Can you post the output from yum repolist and also the complete output from the yum update command that you ran, right from the command prompt where you ran it through to the command prompt returning afterwards. If that output is absolutely massive then please post it on pastebin.centos.org and link to it.

Re: yum update errors
I don't think you should mix remi and webtatic on the same system as both provide similarly named packages that overwrite things from the CentOS supplied repos. That 3 way clash doesn't look like the source of your current problem though, that appears to be something to do with atrpms. Perhaps it's because you no longer have atrpms enabled.
It appears that several of those atrpms packages have hard coded dependencies on specific versions of the glibc packages or perhaps you have added an exclude= line to /etc/yum.conf to stop 32 bit packages from being installed so it cannot find the updated versions? In any case, atrpms is not on our list of community recommended repos precisely because of weird problems like this. The recommended place to pick up multimedia packages is nux-dextop or possibly rpmfusion (if they ever produce a full set of packages for CentOS 7).
I think what I would do is remove those things that are complaining about the lack of /usr/sbin/ldconfig and then see if your update works. Start by attempting to remove them without using yum -y so you get a chance to abort it if the list of packages is too long:
yum remove libva1-1.3.1-11.el7.x86_64 libx264_142-0.142-20_20140406.2245.el7.x86_64 libva-x11_1-1.3.1-11.el7.x86_64 1:libfaad2-2.7-18.el7.x86_64 libva-drm1-1.3.1-11.el7.x86_64 libxvidcore4-1.3.2-15.el7.x86_64 libbluray1-0.4.0-6.el7.x86_64
Carefully review the list of packages that yum says it will remove by running this and only reply Y if nothing that you actually need installed is listed as being ready to be removed. Don't run yum -y or blindly reply Y to the prompt.
I think nux-dextop contains most of the things that are listed there as from atrpms though the package names are different:
